One of our clients produces meat and sausage products as well as semi-finished goods. For their production control points, equipment was needed to weigh semi-finished products, print labels, and record data in a computer.
The label printer is not protected against water and cleaning agents, so the solution had to ensure the printer remained safe during cleaning of the production area.
Biltech offers a floor-standing stand with a printer enclosure. After the work shift, the operator closes the front panel, making the enclosure sealed. The equipment can be washed without harming the printer.
However, the standard stand was not suitable due to the large size of the printer, and the client also required an additional shelf for scales.
How the standard model was customized
Biltech engineers upgraded the floor-standing stand to fully meet the client’s requirements:
1. Increased the overall size of the structure;
2. Reinforced the frame for improved stability;
3. Designed a new enclosure to fit the specific printer dimensions;
4. Installed an additional shelf for scales;
5. Added a mounting bracket for the scale display unit.
Now the floor-standing stand includes an industrial touchscreen all-in-one unit, a keyboard shelf, an industrial keyboard, a sealed enclosure for the label printer, and two shelves for scales.
How the floor-standing stand works
1. The operator weighs the semi-finished product at the control point;
2. Prints a label with product data;
3. The data is read and recorded into the computer.
If additional data needs to be entered, the operator can use the industrial keyboard or input data via the all-in-one touchscreen unit.
